Meet Audrey and her fans...

Picture
My name is Audrey and if you ask anyone who knows me they will tell you I am passionate about animals. I want to rescue, love and care for every one of them (ask my husband, he’ll tell you). A few years ago, when we had our first son, I started baking treats for our dogs. I started out the same way as any novice baker, with recipes from books and online. I started baking batch after batch and just fell in love with the idea of doing something special for my pups. My cats enjoyed it too.

It’s now a solid four years, and another son, later and my love for baking for my own dogs has sprouted into a full blown, God-breathed dream. I also have a passion for sewing. I know I have a lot to learn and a lot more practicing to do, but you can tell there’s love, sweat and tears into all the work I do (figuratively speaking of course… don’t worry there’s no tears or sweat on the products… haha). I love getting custom orders too. If you’re interested, contact me and we’ll set something up. You can also check out some of the beds I’ve made in the Photos section of the website.

Meet my #1 fan, Otto...

Picture
My name is Otto and I came to live with the Maqueira family late in 2006. I was a well trained dog with the goal of becoming a part of the local law enforcement's bomb squad team. While in training I tried to fight the urge to herd my fellow classmates and failed. I nipped at another dog while we were both trying to pass a bomb sniffing test in school. I mean, what could they expect, I'm a herding dog! Anyways, as I was saying, I nipped the other guy and they failed me out of the program. Soon I found myself at a local trainer, looking for a new home. When Audrey and Ermes came to pick up their dog from training we met and instantly fell in love.  That night was the first of many with my new family.

Since then, I have eaten a lot of my mom’s treats and I’ve put on a few pounds. My favorite treats are the Livations, Beef Liver Jerky and I even like the low calorie Molasses Brownies (something about that molasses and sunflower kernel combination really makes my mouth water). I’m not a very good tester since I will eat anything, but for those of you out there with picky palates, I haven’t heard any complaints yet. So, give my mom’s treats a try. I know you wont be disappointed!

Bean, our former foster dog.

Picture
My name is Bean. I lived with the Maqueira family quite recently. Earlier this year Audrey, my former foster mom, was working at a local pet expo selling treats. She was teamed up with a rescue from up north. My previous owners came with my sister and brother and they dropped the three of us off with the rescue. They surrendered us due to the loss of our home. I don’t know all the details, but I was sad and scared. Throughout the expo the three of us sat in out crate not knowing what was going on.

Finally, our crate door opened. My brother started freaking out and attacking anyone who tried to put their hand in our crate. At the first chance I ran out of the crate, only to find a new and confusing world. All the rescue workers helped my former foster mom catch me. I really didn’t know any better, and when she picked me up I could sense her love. We bonded and she took me home until we found a new family to love me. It  was hard knowing that I’d leave this family, but I had a blast with them. Besides, I got tons of treats and lots of love. What more could I ask for! I think you’ll love the treats she bakes! Try the Molasses Brownies or the Peanut Butter Snaps, they're my favorites!

Fiona, a great addition to our family!

Picture
My name is Fiona. I am an extended member of the Maqueira family. I was adopted by Audrey's parents. I am the most happy-go-lucky dog you’ll ever meet. I just love life. I was recently adopted by my new parents at the very same pet expo where Bean was surrendered. We have a lot in common, Bean and I. We were both abandoned. You wouldn’t be able to tell by my playful personality that I was dumped in the middle of the desert to fend for myself. I may never know why it happened to me, but I am grateful it led me to my new family. I get all the love and attention I could ask for. Everyone loves me and I get lots, and lots, and lots of treats!

Contrary to my other furry friends, I am a picky eater. I would rather play than eat, so for a treat to get my attention it has to be good! Audrey is constantly trying out new treats on me, which I don’t mind when I like what she offers. My favorite treat is the Chicken and Rice cookie. Who could resist the soft tasty chicken-goodness, balanced with the slight crunch of the brown rice… ok, I’m hungry. Order some today because they are fantastic!
